The rapper fills the highest three spaces on Billboard’s list of the most-consumed songs throughout the U.S., and this frame isn’t even the first time he’s managed to do so.
The Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner is just the fourth musician in U.S. history to claim the highest three spaces on the Hot 100 on more than one occasion, according to Billboard.
He joins some of the most successful artists of all time in doing so, and proves his immense popularity, as well as the power of appearing on both the Grammys and the Super Bowl.
“Not Like Us” soars from No. 15 to No. 1 on the Hot 100 this week, returning to the summit for a third nonconsecutive frame. “Luther,” Lamar’s collaboration with SZA, jumps to its peak of No. 2. “TV Off,” which features Lefty Gunplay, pushes from No. 10 to No. 3, missing out on its previous best showing by one space.
It was only a few months ago that Lamar first completely controlled the Hot 100’s highest three spaces.
In December 2024, he ruled with “Squabble Up,” “TV Off,” and “Luther,” which appeared at Nos. 1 through 3, respectively, as his new album GNX debuted on the charts.
Among all acts that have topped the Hot 100 by owning the uppermost trio of spots, The Beatles have done so most frequently.
The British rockers occupied at least the top three rungs, if not more, for five weeks in 1964. It would be decades before any other artist managed to do the same.
Drake joined The Beatles, as he has filled the highest three spaces on the Hot 100 on three occasions. He started his run in 2021, and most recently managed the showing in 2023.
Taylor Swift is matched with Drake in this regard, as she has also claimed the biggest three songs in America during a trio of different chart weeks. She did so for the first time in 2022, and managed to add to her growing list of showings just last year.
Ariana Grande deserves a shoutout here, as she once also controlled Nos. 1 through 3 on the Hot 100. So far, the singer has only done so once, so she’s not actually included in the group that boasts The Beatles, Drake, Swift, and Lamar, though she could become the fifth act to do so whenever she delivers new music.
