Grab your tissues, “Home Town” fans. Ben Napier is melting hearts with the achingly sweet Instagram post he shared late on February 24, 2025, featuring audio of his wife and HGTV co-star, Erin Napier, singing a Taylor Swift song with their three-year-old daughter, Mae.

“I am not a #Swiftie, but this one gets me,” Ben captioned a photo of Mae, taken from behind as she stood in front of giant painting that Erin created at his brother’s art and frame shop in Laurel, Mississippi.

Ben added audio to the post of Erin and Mae singing Swift’s 2019 song “Lover,” with one word changed. At the end of their song, instead of singing “lover,” they insert the word “mother” — especially adorable because little Mae pronounces it as “muhver.”

“It is @erinapier’s song with Mae because one of her baby words that’s hanging on is the way she says mother,” Ben wrote.

“They change that one word so maybe @taylorswift won’t be angry. I love getting to raise our babies with an artist. Their world is so big because of it.

Anything can be everything. Carrots are lobster beans, bookshelves are animal hotels, trash is art. Mothers are special. Muhvers are magic.”

In the audio clip Ben shared, Erin can be heard singing the following stanza of “Lover” with Mae’s little voice jumping in here and there, changing only the last word from “lover” to “mother.”

We could leave the Christmas lights up ’til January
And this is our place, we make the rules
And there’s a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you, dear
Have I known you 20 seconds or 20 years?

Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
And ah, take me out, and take me home
You’re my, my, my, my
Mother

Erin shared Ben’s post in her Instagram Stories and wrote, “I’m so lucky to be her muhver.”

Erin also commented on his post, referencing another lyric in the song, writing, “i’ve loved her 3 summers but i want them all 😭”

By the following morning, thousands of fans had liked and commented on the sweet post, with one declaring, “This has me SOBBING,” to which Ben replied, “Me too.”

Another fan wrote, “This is off the charts sweet and beautiful in every possible way. A mother daughter duo 💕; you brought tears to my eyes.

Love you Big Ben for loving all your girls the way you do. My favorite part is knowing your two baby girls are growing up in the best life any girl could imagine.”

Someone else deemed their tune the “best version of any TSwift song I have ever heard.”

Is Erin Napier a Taylor Swift Fan?

The Napiers are big music fans, but Erin is also a musician herself, having played in a band called Sunday’s Maria when she was a teen.

“Music was my first love,” Erin told People in 2022, recalling how she used to draw a crowd in Laurel when she’d play.

“There was a newspaper story about it, and by the time I graduated high school, there would be a crowd of 150 people in this little courtyard to come watch me play.”

Though she didn’t pursue music as a career, she has periodically sung and played her guitar on TV, including on a May 2024 episode of “Home Town” and in the 2022 Christmas movie she appeared in with Ben, “A Christmas Open House.”

Erin also loves to make her own Spotify playlists to meet whatever mood she’s in, and has made more than 20 of them public.

One, ironically called “I’m not a Swiftie,” was created on February 7, 2024, but she has since added new favorites, bringing the song list total to 24 a year later.
