Elon Musk, the eccentric billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX, has once again sparked controversy on social media. This time, his target is Microsoft and its co-founder, Bill Gates.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Musk accused Gates of stifling innovation in the tech industry and claimed that Microsoft has abused its dominant market position.

“Microsoft has spent decades crushing competition instead of fostering innovation,” Musk wrote on X. “It’s time for people to know the truth about how they operate.”

Musk also suggested that Microsoft has used aggressive tactics to maintain its monopoly, blocking technological advancements that could have revolutionized the industry.

“Gates is not the visionary people think he is. He has stopped more breakthroughs than he has created,” Musk added.

Tension between Musk and Gates has been brewing for years. In 2022, Musk revealed that Gates had shorted Tesla’s stock, fueling a bitter rivalry.

Their views on artificial intelligence have also clashed repeatedly. While Gates supports a more regulated approach, Musk has warned about the dangers of over-restricting innovation in AI.

Recently, Microsoft has ramped up its investment in AI through OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT.

Musk, who was a co-founder of OpenAI but later distanced himself from it, has been a vocal critic of its partnership with Microsoft, accusing them of turning the organization into a profit-driven corporate entity.

A Call for a Boycott?

Musk ended his posts with a strong statement: “If you care about innovation and the future of technology, stop using Microsoft products. There are better alternatives out there.”

This remark has ignited debate on social media. While some users support Musk’s stance, others argue that Tesla has also been accused of aggressive business practices.

One thing is certain—this latest chapter in the rivalry between two of the world’s most influential entrepreneurs is far from over. Will Musk’s call for a boycott gain traction? Time will tell.
