Opera singer and TV personality Wynne Evans has been spotted for the first time since reports emergedĀ

that he plans to take legal action against the BBC over his removal from the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour.
The GoCompare advert star appeared calm and collected as he stepped out for coffee in Cardiff,
despite the controversy surrounding his abrupt exit from the tour and the potential risk to his career.

Strictly Tour Controversy

Evans, who gained national fame through his long-running role in the GoCompare advertisements,

was dropped from the Strictly tour last month following an incident in which he made an inappropriate sexual comment. During a group photo at a press event for the tour, Evans was caught on camera singing the well-known āGo Compareā jingle before making a crude remark referencing fellow Strictly star Jamie Borthwick. His use of the explicit term āspit roastā led to backlash, with critics calling his comment offensive and inappropriate.
Following the controversy, Evans announced that he would be stepping back from his BBC radio show and other professional commitments, citing a need to focus on his wellbeing. In a statement, he expressed regret for his actions, saying:
āI am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I wonāt get to see at the remaining performances, and Iām grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.ā
Fighting Back Against the BBC
Despite issuing a public apology, Evans is reportedly preparing to challenge the BBCās decision to remove him from the Strictly tour. According to sources, he believes his dismissal was unfair and is seeking financial compensation for lost earnings.

A source told The Sun: āHe said he is going to a tribunal with the BBC and will fight with every breath in his body. Wynne feels he has been treated unfairly and wonāt go down without a fight.ā
The legal battle could focus on claims of unfair dismissal and breach of contract, with Evans enlisting top London law firm Russells to represent him. Sources close to the singer suggest he is determined to prove that the punishment he has faced is disproportionate to his mistake.
Public Backlash and Career Concerns
Evansā fall from grace has not only cost him his place on the Strictly tour but may also put other career opportunities at risk. Reports suggest that he could even lose his long-standing role as the face of GoCompare, a position that made him a household name.
An insider previously told The Mirror that the scandal has left Evans worried about his future.
āAt the end of the day, he has been a bit of an oaf and made a stupid mistake, but does he deserve such hatred? Yes, using the term was absolutely wrong, and he realises this. His problem is that he is a joker and he continually wants to play to the crowd.ā

While some believe his remarks were meant as harmless banter, others argue that they were inappropriate for a professional setting, especially in the context of a family-friendly show like Strictly Come Dancing.
BBC bosses initially opted to issue Evans with a warning but later decided to drop him from the tour as criticism mounted.
First Public Appearance Amid Scandal
Despite the growing controversy, Evans appeared untroubled as he was seen for the first time since news of his legal fight broke. The singer was spotted walking through Cardiff holding a coffee, dressed in a beige jacket, dark jeans, and brown shoes. With his hands tucked into his pockets, he gave off a relaxed demeanor, seemingly unfazed by the headlines surrounding him.

Whatās Next for Wynne Evans?
While some insiders believe the scandal could significantly damage Evansā career, others remain hopeful that he can weather the storm.
āTalk of his career ending is premature. His radio show is very popular, and he is very much liked. Everyone hopes he can see the light at the end of the tunnel,ā a source added.
For now, Evans remains embroiled in a legal dispute with the BBC as he seeks to defend his reputation and recoup lost earnings. Whether he will be able to salvage his career and rebuild public trust remains to be seen.
