Taylor Swift’s latest studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, has officially completed a full year on the Official Albums Chart in the United Kingdom, marking 52 consecutive weeks on one of the country’s most competitive music rankings.
Despite not dominating quite as aggressively as some of her past albums have done at the one-year mark, The Tortured Poets Department remains a consistent performer across multiple charts in the UK.

As it enters its 52nd week, the album not only maintains its presence on the all-genre Official Albums Chart but also continues to perform well on the Official Albums Streaming Chart, which focuses entirely on data from platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
In fact, The Tortured Poets Department sees a slight boost on the streaming-specific list, climbing from No. 24 to No. 21 this week. Meanwhile, on the main albums chart, it holds steady at No. 24, proving that Swift’s fanbase continues to keep the project in regular rotation.

One Year on the Chart? Just Another Stat for Swift
This marks the twelfth time a Taylor Swift album has spent at least a year on the UK’s Official Albums Chart — a feat that would define an artist’s entire career under normal circumstances. For Swift, it’s simply part of her chart-dominating legacy.
Still, The Tortured Poets Department has quite a bit of ground to cover before catching up to her most enduring chart success. Her 2014 release 1989 remains her longest-running entry, notching an extraordinary 373 weeks on the chart.
That record has slowed in recent years as fans have pivoted to streaming 1989 (Taylor’s Version), the re-recorded edition released in 2023.

Five Taylor Swift Albums Didn’t Cross the One-Year Mark
Out of the 17 full-length projects that Taylor Swift has released to UK audiences, only five have failed to stay on the chart for 52 weeks.
Her self-titled debut album, Taylor Swift, barely made a dent, charting for just three weeks. Speak Now fared better but still dropped off before reaching the half-year milestone.
Some of her more recent releases — particularly those with limited commercial intent — also had shorter stays. Fearless (Taylor’s Version), for example, spent only a few months on the tally. Similarly, niche live albums like Lover (Live from Paris) and Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions never even cracked double digits.
