During a recent live interview on Good Morning Britain,

host Susanna Reid found herself tactfully corrected by music icon Donny Osmond after she inquired about the challenges of childhood fame.
The 54-year-old presenter, who was leading the show alongside Ed Balls on Thursday (March 6),
spoke to the legendary singer via video link about his latest Las Vegas project, which includes a virtual duet with his younger self.

As the conversation turned to the struggles faced by young celebrities, Susanna posed a question regarding whether fame forces children to grow up too soon.

She referenced actress Millie Bobby Brown’s remarks about the media not allowing young stars to mature naturally. “Are we propelling people into adulthood too soon?” she asked.

“Millie Bobby Brown has spoken about how the media won’t let her grow up. You know, she’s sort of frozen in time. We want people to stay as they were.”
She continued by highlighting comments made by songwriter Guy Chambers, who suggested that people should not join boy bands until they are at least 18 to help protect them from the pressures of fame. Susanna then turned to Donny, stating, “But you’ve embraced your 14-year-old self’s experience; you’ve had no experiences that relate to that.”
However, Donny was quick to clarify her assumption. “Well, that’s not quite true. That’s not quite true,” he responded, before elaborating on his own difficult transition from teen idol to adult entertainer. “I went through a very difficult time transitioning from a teenybopper to an adult entertainer, and for people to accept that was a very challenging process.”

Donny, who found fame as a child star with The Osmonds, has been open about the struggles he faced as he sought to redefine his image and career in the entertainment industry. Despite the challenges, he has continued to enjoy a successful career spanning decades, with his latest Las Vegas residency being a testament to his enduring appeal.
While the discussion highlighted the difficulties young celebrities may face, Donny’s perspective served as a reminder that navigating childhood stardom is a complex journey, with each individual having a unique experience.
