Ruth Langsford has offered a candid look into her life following her highly publicized split from longtime partner Eamonn Holmes.

The television personality, best known for her role on Loose Women, has opened up about navigating life
as a newly single woman and how she plans to spend Valentine’s Day in a unique way.
Embracing New Traditions After Divorce

Langsford, 63, ended her marriage with broadcaster Eamonn Holmes last year after a relationship that spanned nearly three decades.

The pair had been together for 27 years and married for 14, sharing a son, Jack, now 22.

Since their separation, Ruth has been adjusting to her new reality and learning to embrace different experiences, including reimagining how she celebrates Valentine’s Day.
During the February 10 episode of Loose Women, Langsford discussed the rising trend of Galentine’s Day, a holiday that honors female friendships. The event, which originated from the U.S. sitcom Parks and Recreation in 2010, has since gained popularity worldwide, with many women using it as an opportunity to celebrate their bonds with friends.
While speaking about the concept, Ruth revealed that she had received an invitation to a Galentine’s event this year, marking a significant shift in how she approaches Valentine’s Day post-divorce.
“There are gift guides to tell you what to buy for your friends, and restaurants are now offering special Galentine’s or Palentine’s nights out with special offers,” she explained.
“I think it’s rather nice because I’ve had some girlfriends invite me out this Valentine’s Day. They sent me a message saying, ‘You are invited to a Galentine’s Day, and we’re all going out,’ which I think is really nice because I haven’t done that before.”

Her co-host, Sally Dynevor, responded positively, emphasizing the importance of female friendships, particularly during major life changes like divorce. “I think that’s lovely because girls big each other up, don’t they? So, it’s great to have your pals around,” she added.
Moving Forward After a Difficult Split
Ruth’s openness about her personal life isn’t new. In a recent interview with Woman & Home magazine, she reflected on her experience since separating from Holmes, admitting that while the process has been tough, she is committed to moving forward.
“Relationship breakdowns are very difficult, but you deal with it and have to move on,” she stated. “You can let yourself crumble, or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.”
The television presenter acknowledged that she wasn’t thrilled about her marriage ending, but she has come to terms with the situation and is now focusing on herself.
“I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it. I’m trying to now embrace the fact that I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.”

Despite the challenges of divorce, Langsford remains pragmatic about her circumstances, particularly given the public scrutiny that comes with being a well-known figure. “Divorce is very painful.
Most people don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion. But that’s the nature of my job. I’ve always had that, and if you can’t cope, you shouldn’t be doing this job.”
A New Chapter for Ruth Langsford
Although the end of a long-term relationship is never easy, Ruth Langsford is finding ways to embrace change. Whether through celebrating Galentine’s Day with close friends or focusing on her personal happiness, she is carving out a new path for herself.

Her honesty about the challenges of divorce and self-reinvention has resonated with many fans, particularly those who have faced similar experiences.
By sharing her journey, Ruth is not only offering insight into her own life but also inspiring others to navigate life’s transitions with resilience and grace.
As she moves forward, it’s clear that Langsford is embracing her newfound independence with a positive mindset, proving that life after divorce is not just about endings but also about fresh starts.
