Christina Haack, star of Christina on the Coast, has candidly shared the emotional toll of her divorce from Josh Hall and how it has positively impacted her family life. 

In a recent episode of her HGTV series, the 41-year-old renovation expert sat down with longtime friend Cassie Zebisch to discuss the breakdown of her marriage

and the aftermath of Hall’s departure from their Newport Beach home.9

Haack admitted that, since Hall moved out, both she and her children have been feeling happier and more at peace.

“The house is so much better, the kids are so happy,” she said, reflecting on the changes in their home.

Haack, who has three children from her previous marriages—daughter Taylor, 14,

and son Brayden, 9, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and son Hudson, 5, with second ex-husband Ant Anstead—revealed that their lives have been significantly improved since Hall, 44, moved out.

Cassie Zebisch, inquiring about how Haack felt since the change, asked, “Do you feel like a weight’s been lifted off your shoulder?” Haack was quick to respond, expressing how relieved she feels. “Because Josh is gone? Yes! A 220-pound weight,” she said with a laugh, describing how the negative energy from their relationship had weighed heavily on the household. “Everyone in this household is, like, thriving, and the kids truly are doing great,” she continued. “It’s just all that negative energy.”

Haack’s revelation underscores how a difficult relationship can cast a shadow over the entire family dynamic. Despite being married for less than three years, Haack’s experience with Hall was reportedly fraught with struggles. During their marriage, Haack tried to help Hall, who she said had difficulty finding happiness. She even tried to involve him more in her business, hoping that it would bring him fulfillment.

“I tried to give him the self-help tools, keep him busy, get him involved in the business,” Haack explained. However, she came to a painful realization: “You can’t make someone else happy. They can only make themselves happy.”

Zebisch, understanding Haack’s situation, comforted her, assuring her that it wasn’t her fault. “There’s nothing you could’ve done,” Zebisch said. “You walked away from a situation that was so bad, so toxic.” Haack agreed, admitting that she had never wanted to get divorced for a third time but ultimately decided to prioritize her happiness and well-being.

As the conversation unfolded, Zebisch advised Haack to slow down and take time for herself before diving into another romantic relationship. “I know you love a relationship. You love to be in love,” Zebisch said. “You have your family, you have your beautiful children and a beautiful life and career. It’s all right, you know. Let’s slow it down.” Haack, taking the advice to heart, responded, “I’m slowing my roll.”

Though Haack’s personal life has been under public scrutiny, she seems to be finding stability again. She has since moved on from Hall and is now in a relationship with Christopher Larocca, the CEO of Network Connex. Haack confirmed their romance on Instagram in February, but it’s clear that she’s taking things slow this time around.

In the episode, Haack also discussed some of the challenges she faced during her marriage to Hall, including a renovation project in Tennessee they started before their separation. Zebisch, aware of the complexities of their split, asked how much Hall was still involved in the project. Haack shared that she had told Hall he could contribute financially to the renovation, but he refused, leading to some ongoing tension about the project’s future. Haack expressed concerns that Hall might later try to claim a share of the profits.

The breakdown of Haack and Hall’s marriage has been filled with public drama, including allegations of Hall taking her gym equipment and even removing Haack’s ATV and quad bikes from a Tennessee property they once shared. Haack has also accused Hall of taking money from her accounts, though his representative has denied the accusations.

In light of all the personal and financial conflicts, Haack appears to have learned valuable lessons from her experience. “She has really put herself first and is really growing and putting in the work to not make the same mistake again,” Zebisch said, praising Haack for her courage in moving on from such a toxic relationship.
