Ben Shephard has confirmed that he and co-host Cat Deeley will be taking a short break from This Morning next week as the show heads into the half-term holiday. 

The duo, who took over hosting duties last year following the departures of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, have previously taken time off during school holidays,

a pattern that continues with this upcoming break.

Ben Shephard Confirms Time Off on Social Media

The news was shared by Ben, 50, in a heartfelt Instagram post following Thursday’s episode of the ITV daytime show.

Alongside a collection of behind-the-scenes images from the morning’s broadcast, he wrote, “Ahhh lovely end of the week for me and @catdeeley.

Thanks for all your messages. I hope everyone is ready for some hardcore Valentine’s, Palentine’s, or Galentine’s action (delete where appropriate)!!”

He then reassured viewers that their absence was only temporary, adding, “We’ll be back in the studio after half-term!! Thanks @kenmckayphoto for these ace pics too.” His message was met with an outpouring of support from fans, many of whom wished him a relaxing break. One viewer commented, “Have a nice week off,” while another wrote, “Always nice to see you on, Ben. Enjoy your half-term.”

His post has already garnered thousands of likes, including from his This Morning colleague Alison Hammond. Even his former Good Morning Britain co-star Sean Fletcher showed support, acknowledging the well-deserved break.

Who Will Step In for Ben and Cat?

Although no official announcement has been made regarding their temporary replacements, it is widely expected that Alison Hammond, 50, and Dermot O’Leary, 51, will fill in. The duo, who typically host the show every Friday, previously stepped in during the October and November half-term break last year.
