Exclusive photos shared with Yahoo Lifestyle appear to show a Farmer Wants A Wife contestant getting friendly with a farmer she wasn’t paired with.

We’re only two episodes into the 2025 season of Farmer Wants A Wife, and there’s already some potential farmer swapping going on behind the scenes. In photos obtained by Yahoo Lifestyle, it seems one contestant has been spotted getting close to a different farmer than the one she was initially partnered with.

Ella Wagner, a registered nurse from Queensland, was seen in Monday night’s episode trying to win over Farmer Jarrad by gifting him her “favourite [barramundi] lure”. While she shared that she was excited to meet Jarrad as she believes they share the same morals and lifestyles, things didn’t work and he sent her home after the speed date round. However, Ella may have already moved on… with another farmer.

Every year, producers put out a callout for suitors to apply to date eight potential farmers, with the group always shrinking by the time they begin filming. It is usually cut down to a group of five, but this year it’s just four: Farmer Corey, Farmer Tom, Farmer Thomas and Farmer Jarrad.

One farmer who was advertised for this season, but never made it to filming, was Farmer Jack Reid, AKA Reidy. In a video that was shared to help promote Reidy, he revealed that he’s a banana and avocado farmer from Mareeba in Far North Queensland, who works on the farm his parents started.

And while he never got his chance to appear on the show, Farmer Reidy might still have found a connection with one of the contestants after all.

In photos obtained by Yahoo Lifestyle, Ella and Reidy appeared to be very friendly while hanging out over the Easter long weekend, posing for photos together just days before the show premiered on Monday night.

The pair appear to have a lot in common as well – they are both very passionate about fishing and the country lifestyle. They also grew up less than an hour apart.

Ella and Reidy also follow each other on Instagram, suggesting they are, at the very least, friends.

Who knows, maybe Ella will get her farmer, just not Farmer Jarrad?
