Married At First Sight star Jacqui Burfoot has lifted the lid on the very spartan conditions participants have to endure between takes.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Jacqui shared a short clip that showed the cast members taking some time out from filming at a warehouse in Sydney.
Shot during one of the series’ dinner parties, the clip showed participants scattered around an empty room.
In a scene that would not look out of place on Aussie prison drama Wentworth, the room featured a bare concrete floor, harsh fluorescent lighting and coverings on the windows to deter potential voyeurs.
Carina Mirabile could be seen sitting on a black plastic chair with a purple blanket wrapped around her.
With Married At First Sight filming taking place between June and September, Carina’s desire to rug up makes sense given MAFS is filmed during the Australian winter – from July to September.

As Jacqui panned her camera around the depressing scene, Paul Antoine and Adrian Araouzou were sharing a joke with a producer.
Another figure, which appeared to be groom Dave Hand, could also be seen sitting with his head in his hands as he waited to film.
There was also a duo, possibly producers, perched in a corner on their haunches surveying the scene.
Captioning the surprising video, Jacqui claimed that the cast were separated an not allowed to fraternise between takes.
‘What it was like backstage at MAFS,’ Jacqui wrote.
‘We’d be separated and sat like this. Not allowed to talk.’

Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle on Thursday, 2024 participant Eden Harper revealed contestants are served small amounts of ‘terrible’ food during their drama-filled catch-ups.
‘I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. It was cold and there wasn’t enough of it,’ Eden told the publication.
‘By the time I even leant over for a piece of chicken, all that was left was lettuce. It was not good.’
She added that as the series progressed, portion sizes increased but the quality of the plates did not.
‘Always eat before the dinner parties. I’d tell that to anyone, any season,’ she said.
Eden admitted when it came to the drinks, quaffing with abandon at the dinner table was frowned upon, while the cocktail party was a different story.
She said the pre-loading soiree was a ‘free-for-all’ with a first come, first served mentality.
‘But then in the actual dinner party, it’s maybe, like, three or four jugs of wine across the whole table,’ she shared.

‘It’s red or white, and if you don’t drink right away, there are no other options.’
Eden also gave some insight into what happens between the cocktail and dinner parties.
She claimed, unlike what viewers see, filming stops for two hours while participants are ushered into tents to film pieces to camera and to take promo photos.
Eden also revealed to offset the hunger caused by the dinner parties, she and Jordan used to bring sushi to snack on as they waited in their tent.
