Their time on Married At First Sight is only just coming to an end, but Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels are already tipped to appear on another reality TV show. The fan-favourite couple, who chose to continue their relationship at Final Vows in Monday night’s episode, are rumoured to be competing on an upcoming season of The Block.

An insider told Woman’s Day that Channel Nine are “keen to invest in their love story” and they’re “being geared up to be the face of the show” following their positive portrayal on MAFS. They added that fans could expect to see the pair on The Block in 2025 or 2026 as this decision has “already been discussed internally”.

While it’s unlikely Rhi and Jeff will appear on this year’s season of The Block as filming is already underway in Daylesford, the couple tell Yahoo Lifestyle they’d be very interested in competing on the show in the future.

“When I saw [the rumours], I actually got a little bit excited,” Jeff remarks. “I thought it’d be a great fit for us to go on The Block. It’s a show that I’ve actually watched for a few years and I find it really entertaining.

“I had a great experience with what we just went through on Married At First Sight personally, and I love Channel Nine and all the production there. I think it’s a great fit, so who knows what will happen down the track?”

Rhi adds that although she doesn’t have any experience in home renovations, she would “definitely” say yes to the opportunity.

“I’m not sure how handy I would be, but I’m sure I could paint,” she says with a laugh. “I’ve expressed my resilience during the MAFS experiment, so I feel like I could be just as resilient on The Block and just pull out some things I never knew I could do. So yeah, I’d definitely give it a go. I think it’d be amazing.”

MAFS couple reveal talks to appear on The Block

If Rhi and Jeff were to be cast on The Block, it would make them the first MAFS couple to compete on the renovation reality show. The series has previously seen a handful of famous faces taking on the challenge, including Josh and Luke Packham following their stint on Love Island Australia in 2019.

Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant recently revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle that they almost went on The Block after appearing on MAFS in 2019 but changed their minds.

“They interviewed us and we dabbled with the idea, but I just had [our son] Ollie and the timings in life weren’t right,” Jules shared. “We had the interview and I was just like, ‘Nah, this is not for us’.”

Meanwhile, Cam admitted he was keen on the idea and had even been asking their friends and two-time Block contestants Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie for advice.

“I was set to go, I was ready!” he said. “I literally took up my training to a whole new level, talking to Mitch and Mark about carrying and shovelling and doing whatever I possibly could. But Ollie was just a bit too young because they wanted to obviously play by the rules and we couldn’t be off-site with Ollie.”

“It’s no easy feat doing The Block, everyone knows that now. You earn every cent that you make on there,” Jules added. “I mean, never say never! But at that time, it was just the impossible.”
