Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmine have scored a major win in the battle to build their forever home on Sydney‘s north shore.
The Today show host, 50, and his shoe designer wife, 40, have had new plans approved in the Land and Environment court for their $4.5million luxury mansion.
The couple had set out to knock down the original 1960s home on the block in upscale Castlecrag, 9km from the CBD, to build a four level sprawl with five bedrooms.
The court delivered their ruling on Wednesday which approved a modified design for the home which will now only feature two levels.
Stefanovic and his wife purchased the property for $3.2million in 2021.
In March, 2024, the couple finally got the approval from Willoughby Council to move forward with their renovation after a lengthy wrangle of their original development application (DA) that lasted a year.

A modified DA was submitted by the couple in February after demolition work had already started in December.
News reported that the pair met with Willoughby Council in a ‘conciliation conference’ earlier this month.
According to the report, a neighbour was concerned about ‘glare’ from the roof in the revised development.
The judgement ruled that ‘the proposed modification is substantially the same as the consent as originally approved.’
Modifications to the Stefanovics’ ‘dream home’ now include four bedrooms instead of five and two levels as opposed to three.
The couple’s plans for their new pad includes a pool and a spa and al fresco dining area and double garage, down from a three-car space.
The decision came after Stefanovic first lodged a DA with the council in March 2023.
Neighbours responded to the couple’s plans with a series of concerns including ‘loss of views’, and reflection from solar panels.

The celebrity couple’s legal team stated that the renovation ‘generally complied’ with the planning laws set out by Willoughby Council.
However, it did not comply with floor plan space ratio controls consistent with local planning regulations.
The original application revealed that the couple’s plans included creating 102 square metres of living space below ground level.
Originally built in the 1960s, the old home, which has now been knocked down completely, had views over Castlecrag’s north escarpment.
A design sketch shows the finished property will feature a stunning contemporary design, spacious surroundings, French windows and an indoor circular staircase.
It will also boast a stylish outdoor dining terrace with adjacent stairs and a host of gorgeous architectural touches, including high ceilings and slanted windows.
In December Karl informed his Instagram followers that demolition work had started on the site.
Karl and Jasmine, along with their children, divide their time between Sydney and Queensland.
As well as Harper, Karl also has three older children – Jackson, 24, Willow, 19, and River, 17 – from his marriage to Cassandra Thorburn.
Jasmine’s family are based in the Sunshine State where Karl began his journalism career.
The couple married in December 2018 in San José del Cabo, Mexico.
