Married At First Sight’s Paul Antoine received a brutal telling off by expert John Aiken during Monday night’s explosive final episode.

The controversial groom, 31, took to the couch with his former TV bride Carina Mirabile, 31, as the pair discussed their tumultuous marriage before watching a video of their time together.

The clip documented Paul’s violent outburst that saw him punch a wall and him going on a date with another woman in the series’ final challenge.

This led to Carina ultimately deciding to part ways with the groom at Final Vows.

Reflecting on his former wife’s decision to walk away from their relationship, Paul said that he was ‘heartbroken’.

However, after returning home from the experiment, Paul revealed he had a change in perspective regarding their relationship.

‘I was just able to reflect on the whole experiment and all these arguments we’ve had and all these little issues we’ve had.

‘The question I asked myself was, “okay, are we as compatible as I thought we were?”

The groom then went on to list the reasons that he and Carina weren’t a good match, saying she she ‘wasn’t able to take on much criticism’ and that ‘she worries a lot about her image’.

‘It’s not being fully authentic,’ he said.

Paul then turned to his wife: ‘You said “I don’t want people to think that I’m not the kind of person who stands for what I believe in”.

‘She should make her decisions on what she truly wants,’ he told the experts.

However, when Alessandra Rampolla pointed out that the common denominator was that Carina was standing by her beliefs, the groom proceeded to disagree with the expert.

However, when Alessandra pointed out that the common denominator was that Carina was standing by her beliefs, the groom proceeded to disagree with the expert

‘I would appreciate it Paul if you do not speak over me.’

Suddenly, groom Jeff Gobbels addressed Paul from the sidelines, speaking up for Carina.

‘The mistakes you made early in this experiment [where] Carina forgave you multiple times, I don’t think she was worried what people thought because, if she was, she wouldn’t have forgiven you,’ Jeff sensationally told the groom.

‘She rode for you,’ Jamie Marinos chimed in. ‘She rode for you hard.’

Paul, however, still couldn’t take the blame by himself.

‘I know I’ve made a few mistakes along the way but Carina has also,’ he said, adding that she had done things that made him feel ‘extremely uncomfortable and upset.’

Expert John Aiken was having none of the groom’s defensive lines as he proceeded to call him out for his behaviour.

‘Paul, I’ve had enough. I’m going to tell you the way it is,’ he said.

‘You have to stop playing the victim.’

‘And look at me when I’m talking to you because I won’t get another chance to give this to you straight – and you need to change.

‘I’ve seen a guy who has consistently broken his partner’s trust – not once, not twice, three times.

He then proceeded to point out Paul’s actions, calling out the violence, betrayal and cheating behaviour that the groom had exhibited during the experiment.

‘Any way you look at it, it’s bad, and I don’t like to sit this close and watch someone blame the person whose been on the receiving end of that,’ he sensationally called out Paul.

‘Frankly, it just made me sick in the stomach,’ he said, adding: ‘This must be a wake up call for you.’

As the sit-down came to a close, Carina revealed that she had learnt to trust her gut and have more confidence in herself thanks to the experiment.

Paul admitted that he had a lot of work to do, and the couple proceeded to leave the couch to go their separate ways.
