Robert Irwin on Becoming and Internet Heartthrob

When introducing Irwin, Turner referred to the 21-year-old son of “The Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, as “very single,” referring to his recent breakup with Rorie Buckley. The two officially launched their relationship in July 2023 while they were working together at the Australia Zoo.

In February 2024, however, the two announced their breakup.

“We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all the time spent together and wish one another all the very best into the future,” said Irwin and Buckley in a joint statement on Instagram.

The conservationist was later rumored to be in a relationship with Australian Zoo worker Charlotte Briggs, though the two allegedly split up in February 2025.

Irwin cemented his place as an eligible bachelor in April 2025 when he appeared in a modeling campaign for Bonds Underwear. The “I’m A Celebrity” presenter showed off his physique in the viral series of stripped-down photos featuring Australian wildlife.

Turner referred to the campaign during Irwin’s interview, saying, “Your fans on the internet have kind of already got you. They saw those underwear photos and they said, ‘He’s our guy’.”

Irwin responded: “That has been an eye opening experience for sure. I think moreso for my family. I think my sister [Bindy Irwin] goes, I showed her. I was like ‘Hi, how cool is this!’ And she’s like, ‘Robert, there are some things I cannot unsee’.”

Bindy, a conservationist like her brother and father, competed on “Dancing With the Stars” Season 21 in 2015 when her brother was just 11-years-old. Bindy won the competition alongside professional choreographer Derek Hough. The six-time “Dancing With the Stars” winning dancer has since joined the series as a judge.

Hough previously reacted to Robert joining the “Dancing With the Stars” Season 34 cast, saying “We’re really lucky to have him.” The season is set to air on ABC later this year.

Irwin Comments on the Possibility of Becoming ‘The Bachelor’

Commenting on Irwin’s recent casting, Turner said, “I feel like, now you’re in the ABC family, why stop at ‘Dancing With the Stars’? ‘The Bachelor’ could be next.”

“‘The Bachelor,’ you reckon?’ responded Irwin, adding, “Hey, I mean, never say never.”

The wildlife photographer continued, “I mean, I’m looking for the perfect person, so stranger things have happened.”

Turner then showed Irwin a photoshopped image of the actor in a suit holding a trademark “The Bachelor” rose in his hand and a snake around his neck. Irwin laughed at the photo before admitting, “I mean, I can see that happening.”
