After Robert Irwin unexpectedly asserted his heartthrob status with a viral underwear campaign, his dating life might be of interest to fans, so does the Australian zookeeper have a girlfriend?

The 21-year-old son of the late Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, is best known for his role in the family business. Robert is a conservationist, television presenter and wildlife photographer who, along with older sister Bindi, will inherit the iconic Australia Zoo from their mother, Terri Irwin.

While his public life is mainly centered on his love of animals and wildlife, Robert’s personal life and romantic interests have made headlines over the years.

Does Robert Irwin Have a Girlfriend?

Robert confirmed that he doesn’t have a girlfriend after reportedly ending a “secret” relationship in February 2025. “I don’t!” Irwin told People on April 3. “I’m single. It’s funny, I’m at this point in my life where I’m like, I’m so open to that, but I’m just waiting for the stars to align.”

He added that he added that, just like his dad and his older sister, he expects to find love at Australia Zoo.

“Interestingly, my parents, my sister Bindi met her husband [Chandler Powell] here — everyone met here at our wildlife sanctuary,” he said. “In both instances, there were American tourists that were coming over and visiting the zoo. So I’m waiting. I’m waiting for that American tourist to come into the zoo and for it all to happen!”

Charlotte Briggs (July 2024 – February 2025)

According to the Daily Mail, Robert was privately dating fellow Australia Zoo worker Charlotte Briggs until February.

The pair were first linked back in July 2024 after they were spotted in Sydney together. The outlet reported that Robert was doing his best to keep the relationship a “secret” but it fizzled out while he was busy hosting competition show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

“I am pretty sure that everyone on the set of I’m A Celebrity noticed Robert was acting more single as the shoot went on,” a source alleged.

“The time apart was proof [Robert] isn’t ready for a full-blown relationship and things are only getting more hectic for the host,” a source close to Charlotte claimed.

Rorie Buckey (November 2022 – February 2024)

Robert previously dated Rorie Buckey, the niece of late Australian actor Heath Ledger, for a little over a year. Buckey is the daughter of the Oscar-winner’s sister, Kate.

The couple were first linked in November 2022 when The Daily Mail Australia photographed them on a date night in Queensland, Australia.

They made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One in Sydney in July 2023. A month later, they went Instagram official by posting now-deleted photos of one another.

In February 2024, they announced their breakup with a joint statement on Instagram.

“We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue our journeys on different paths,” they said in a joint statement. “We won’t be commenting further on this, and really appreciate your respect and privacy at this time.”
