Food guru Matt Preston took to his social media on Thursday to share a gruesome kitchen discovery.
The 63-year-old former MasterChef star posted a video that showed him removing hidden grime from cooking tongs.
However, what he found after removing the plastic heads from the common kitchen utensil left him feeling nauseous.
In the video, which he shared on Instagram, Matt was cleaning the tongs in the sink.
At one point, he took off the head of a set of cooking tongs and uncovered a hideous clump of congealed food waste.
Matt also included a moment in the video where he reacted to his discovery by dry retching.

In the caption, Matt explained he was sharing the awful kitchen hazard as a caution to home cooks.
‘Normally I only post delicious stuff,’ an apologetic Matt said.
‘But beware, this warning about hidden kitchen grime might well turn your stomach. First your wooden spoons and now your tongs!!!’
Many of Matt’s followers appeared to appreciate his kitchen hack and posted messages about their own experiences.
‘I pulled the rubber off a pair of mini tongs and there was black mould in it, straight in the bin,’ one fan wrote.
‘Good find!!! Will check mine immediately! Yuck!’ added another.
‘But how satisfying is it to find and clean out that gunk!,’ said one follower.
It comes after Matt surprised his fans in December after deciding to hang up his headphones at ABC Melbourne in order to spend more time with his family while pursuing projects outside of radio.

‘It is a big commitment and the woman I love would like her husband back for the weekends,’ he told the Herald Sun at the time.
‘(This decision) allows me to do a whole lot of stuff I have not been able to do. It is time to do the more ridiculous things that I now have the time to do.’
He told the publication that amongst his personal plans was an ambitious scheme to swim the 3kms from Albania to Corfu – an annual charity event.
Elsewhere in the chat Matt celebrated his time at he station.
‘I have had an amazing three years talking about so much more than food,’ he began.
‘Live (radio) is a totally new skill for me, so that has been a big challenge, but I have been able to talk to the most amazing array of people from a whole different selection of worlds, as well as have the immediate interaction with listeners both on the phone line or on the text line.’
The TV and radio star, who has hosted the ABC show program since 2022, added he would miss doing ‘The Cat and Matt Show’ – a sports segment with Catherine Murphy.
