Controversial Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 couple Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice have come under fire for their relationship being “faked”, after the pair shocked MAFS fans with an unexpected engagement this week.

Chattr spoke to fellow bride Carina Mirable to get all the inside information about Jacqui and Clint’s relationship, and she was surprisingly positive.

“I think they have amazing chemistry, absolutely, it’s very evident,” Carina tells us. “She wanted the love story. I think everyone does… we all want love at the end of the day. We want to figure out who’s best suitable for us and how we can build a family in a life time with someone.”

She describes the pair as “really smitten and very happy”, and believes they make a good pair.

“Clint, obviously, it’s very evident that he brings the best out in her and then she made the move to Tasmania. To me, it’s pretty serious, and you can’t put a time frame on love.”

She notes that some people get married straight after they meet or choose to elope quickly, so there’s no one rule that everybody needs to abide by.

“Everyone works in different ways, and if it makes them happy, then that’s all we could wish for. I would love to go through that experience,” Carina adds.

Carina criticises Jacqui’s ‘bad edit’ claim

However, Carina also tells Chattr she believes production has “done a good job with everyone’s edit”. While she thinks Jacqui is a “lovely lady” and has had many “good conversations with her”, the bride was possibly too outspoken on MAFS.

“Jacqui is a flamboyant girl and she likes to say her comments, she’s very good at speaking and very good at projecting her words and answering questions,” Carina explains.

“She’s intelligent and driven, and she just says it as it is. So you know, what you put out there, you [have] to be cautious of that. She’s got no filter. Then, of course, they’re going to use her vocals to create a narrative.”

Jacqui has famously gone rogue since the beginning of MAFS and explained her side of the story on social media, something Carina isn’t too supportive of.

“Commenting freely on her open forum to the public probably wasn’t the right way to give that reassurance of a bad edit. I think it would probably have been best if she just sat back and allowed all the controversy in the comments to unfold, because you have put yourself in the public eye,” Carina says.

“Everyone will always have their views. I’ve read so many comments about myself and, you know, so many infactual [comments], but if I was to react to all of them, I wouldn’t be sleeping at night.

“It doesn’t make your life any better, you know.”
