It’s been a wild season of MAFS, and this year’s Final Vows have proven to be surprising to say the least. We’ve had Adrian Araouzou and Awhina Rutene say they were walking away from each other, only to change their minds and get back together… before splitting up again before the show aired.

Jamie Marinos and Dave Thomas Hand left together but split soon after. And then Beth Kelly and Teejay Halkias didn’t even make it to Final Vows at all, because production didn’t want to cover the costs, when they knew the couple wouldn’t leave together.

Now, Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly – AKA one of the season’s most up-and-down couples – surprised no one by deciding not to stay together. However, Jaqui decided she couldn’t leave without sharing some “iconic lines” that she hoped would “go down in history as memorable”.

“In a world of red flags, you are the red carpet,” she told a shocked Ryan, adding, “I’m not a rehabilitation centre.”

Once they finished their vows, Ryan said that the next person Jacqui ends up with should run, with the producers began cheekily cutting to footage of her new boyfriend, Clint Rice, who was initially paired with Lauren Hall on the experiment.

Ryan told the cameras that Jacqui was “manipulative”, “pathetic”, and “the most difficult person” that he’s ever had to try and be with.

Jacqui, meanwhile, said she was “so proud” of herself for her vows.

Fans were left quite surprised by Jacqui’s brutal takedown of Ryan, with one Instagram user writing, “I think she should be the final nail in the coffin of MAFS. They say this is an experiment yet never show us the experiment results? She sat on the last couch proclaiming her affection, she lied from start to finish to build a social media following.”

“BINGO!! You’re absolutely right,” another user responded. “It has become increasingly sickening to watch. The worse the couples behave, the more viewers they garner. If this is entertainment, I’m out.”

“I would have preferred to see more Rhi [Disljenkovic] and Jeff [Gobbels] than Jacqui’s nonsense,” a third said. “The show needs way more ‘therapy’ to spot the fake people before final vows. Kick them off the show and delete their Instagram accounts.”

“Poor Ryan! He took the higher road,” someone else wrote. “Her ego is unbalanced – really disappointed in her pre meditated spitefulness.”

“Wait, you guys actually believe that was real huh,” another quipped.

“And that folks, is why she wrote stay…” someone else added.

“I’m fast getting over this show,” yet another wrote, while someone else said they wouldn’t watch it again.

“She played him big time once he said leave,” one person said.

Others loved Jacqui’s vows, with one person writing, “She gave pure entertainment, can’t blame her.”

“Jacqui’s vows are hilarious,” another said.

“Omg that was actually funny to watch them both,” a third wrote.

“The best, I’m still laughing,” another added.

One viewer poked fun at how the producers edited Clint into the episode, writing, “Them cutting to Clint at the end was so shady, I’m dying.”

“I thought Clint was a classy gentleman I was wrong,” another said.

The teaser for the next episode shows that one month after the final vows, Clint and Jacqui had started dating.
