Married At First Sight viewers were left unimpressed by the fact the experts weren’t seen taking Jacqui’s actions seriously.

Another MAFS season is over, and the viewers have been left with a bad taste in their mouths. After the group sat down with the experts for one last time, fans were shocked that Jacqui Burfoot wasn’t called out on “any of her manipulative behaviour.”

Jacqui was married to Ryan Donnelly in the experiment but is now engaged to Clint Rice, whom she began seeing a few weeks before the reunion was filmed—four weeks after she and Ryan split during final vows (I know, confusing). During her time on the couch with Ryan, chaotic clips from their relationship played, including Jacqui telling Ryan tearfully that she had loved him since the day they met.

After seeing moments like Jacqui telling her backup match Rory that she wanted his number because she’d be out of the experiment in ten days, the other brides and grooms were left gobsmacked.

Of course, Ryan didn’t get away without some judgment as well – let’s not forget him telling the other grooms that Jacqui was good at performing a certain sexual act despite having “crazy eyes” – with the 36-year-old admitting that he felt “ashamed” watching it back.

However, he still questioned why Jacqui had continued to write ‘stay,’ when she was “so apparently dissatisfied” with him and their relationship.

“The criticisms were endless,” he said, begging to know why she chose to remain in the experiment.

When John Aiken asked Clint how he felt watching Jacqui and Ryan’s journey, he said, “I’ve actually fallen more for her since I’ve just watched that.”

While the MAFS account didn’t share any videos from Jacqui’s time on the couch with Ryan, it didn’t stop viewers from slamming the experts for not holding her accountable for her behaviour.

“Not pulling Jacqui up on ANY of her bad manipulative behaviour is wild,” one user said. “This show is the worst.”

“Sure is!! They are happy to pull the men up for bad behaviour,” another said. “Pathetic.”

“I agree! Paul’s behaviour was bad and gets pulled up on it…yet Jacqui gets away with her manipulative behaviour!” a third said.

“I can’t believe Paul was called out on his behaviour but not Jacqui… How is that right?” someone else agreed.

“So disappointed with tonight’s episode,” another wrote. “I feel like I was holding my breath all season for people to be called out on their behaviour!”

“Yeah let a lot of people off the hook on this one,” one person responded.

Clint proposes to Jacqui at MAFS viewing party

Clint and Jacqui, who only began dating after the show wrapped filming in November last year, got engaged on Sunday night at a MAFS viewing party in Sydney hosted by So Dramatic!. The couple were taking part in a Q&A with fans who had bought tickets to attend the event when Clint popped the question.

“We signed up for Married At First Sight to get married and find a lifelong partner, so I’ve got one question for you,” he asked before getting on one knee and pulling out a box.

The couple later confirmed the exciting news on social media and shared close-up photos and videos of the custom-made 5.08ct oval diamond solitaire ring set in platinum and 18ct yellow gold from Simon Curwood Jewellers.

Rochelle Edmonds, head of marketing at Simon Curwood Jewellers, tells Yahoo Lifestyle that Clint was an “amazing client” and reached out a couple of weeks ago to custom make Jacqui’s “one of a kind” ring.

“Clint sent us a picture of a ring he thought she liked and our design team custom made her ring within the week,” she details. “We had a member of our dream team hand deliver it to a secret location so as not to ruin the surprise. It was the best-kept secret!

“We absolutely loved watching Jacqui’s reaction when she saw the ring for the first time! We’re beyond excited for Jacqui and Clint and are so grateful we could be a part of their love story.”
