Married At First Sight star Ryan Donnelly’s marriage to Jacqui Burfoot has been rocky to say the least.

What at first appeared to be a happy union has since disintegrated, following the couple’s uncomfortable post-couple swap exchange this week.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Ryan, 36, revealed that he only had eyes for one girl – his adorable pooch.

The project manager shared a series of images that showed him happily cavorting with his four legged friend.

Clearly besotted with the dog, Ryan was seen happy taking her for a walk around the park.

He wasn’t afraid to show off the fruits of withholding his testosterone for the gym, either, going shirtless as he bonded with his pet.

The love seemed mutual too, with other photos showing the pooch happily looking up to Ryan as she waited for some attention and affection.

She wouldn’t have had to wait too long by the looks of other photos that showed the reality star lovingly cuddling his faithful friend.

Another photo showed the dog, sporting a very sheepish look as she sat with Ryan in a vet’s waiting room.

Captioning the sweet images, Ryan wrote: ‘No.1 girl in my line-up. Always.’

The post was met with a flurry of comments from followers who were quick to swoon over the union.

‘She is so adorable,’ one wrote, while another chimed in with a similar: ‘That dog is enjoying life, isn’t [s]he,’ to which Ryan replied: ‘I try to give her the best life possible.’

Another fan turned the topic back to MAFS, claiming that Ryan had been portrayed unfavourably in the reality series.

‘I think you got a s*** edit. They made you out to a bully and a narcissist,’ they wrote.

‘Look, some of the things you said were totally inappropriate but considering the tiny amount of what we see on our screens I’m not going to kick someone when they are already down.’

The fan continued: ‘I hope you find someone who really appreciates and loves you for the person you are.’

Another fan took the opportunity to praise Ryan for his love of animals.

‘I’m friends with Ryan and have been way before the show and he has always helped save animals,’ they commented.

‘He is incredibly kind and helpful especially to those who are weaker and don’t have a voice. I wish more people realised this about him as he is a hero for abused animals and anyone who needs help.’

It comes after the pair, who have since parted ways, reunited on Tuesday’s episode for a very awkward post couple swap exchange.

Jacqui told Ryan he had fragile masculinity while questioning his ability to provide a financially secure environment for her and their future children.

Despite the words from Jacqui’s honesty letter not sitting well with Ryan, the bride declared during Wednesday’s dinner party that the letter worked and the pair were, in fact, one of the strongest couples.

However, despite Jacqui reading her bombshell letter, which was labelled as ‘garbage’ by Ryan, the pair were spotted packing on the PDA the next day when they returned home from the dinner party.

Displaying none of the awkwardness which was palpable on Tuesday night, Jacqui and Ryan were all smiles as they arrived back at their apartment.

The pair were both beaming broadly as they strolled hand-in-hand and stopped for a kiss as they headed inside.

It wasn’t to be however as the relationship is now over, with Jacqui having moved on with fellow participant Clint Rice.
