After surprising their co-stars at the reunion dinner party by announcing their relationship, Married At First Sight’s Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice once again sent shockwaves through the cast on Sunday night when they got engaged. Clint popped the question at a MAFS viewing party in front of 150 attendees and later confirmed the news on social media with photos of the custom-made ring, which is believed to be worth $30,000.

The controversial couple certainly aren’t the only people who found love on this year’s season of the reality show, with Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels still going strong after filming wrapped late last year. While some fans guessed that Rhi and Jeff might also get engaged this week to try and overshadow Jacqui and Clint’s announcement, the loved-up pair tell Yahoo Lifestyle they don’t feel any pressure to speed things up.

“Absolutely not. We’re on a great path, and when it happens, it happens. But there’s no pressure,” Rhi says, before adding with a laugh, “But don’t wait too long, Jeffie!”.

When asked if they’d ever consider doing a double wedding with Jacqui and Clint, the couple can’t hold back their laughter.

“Oh my gosh, I’d rather pluck my nostril hairs out one by one,” Rhi remarks, while Jeff adds, “I don’t know if I’d want to be part of a sponsored wedding. It’d be a bit cringe, if you ask me. There’d be too many items and companies getting tagged through Instagram.”

Although they might not be fans of a ‘sponsored wedding’, Rhi and Jeff admit they’d be open to following in Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant’s footsteps and getting married ‘for real’ on national TV – or at least filming a spin-off series about their relationship after the show.

“I think we would consider it, to be honest,” Jeff reveals. “Our experience with reality TV, and obviously MAFS, has been great. We love it. We loved everyone from production and the network; it was great. So that’s something we probably would consider, to be honest.”

Jamie Marinos has also since weighed in on Jacqui and Clint’s engagement news, telling Yahoo Lifestyle that she’s thrilled for her co-stars.

“Look, honestly, I wanted a husband so the fact that she found one, I can’t hate the girl,” she shares. “If she’s happy, good on her. I support it. I probably wouldn’t have chosen a promotional event to do an engagement, but that feels so brand, I think. If she’s happy, then I’m happy.”

The fan favourite bride adds that she would only consider attending their upcoming wedding if it were a televised event.

“I would only go if I was miked up and there was a camera crew,” she says. “Let’s make it a whole dinner party event! Let’s do a MAFS spin-off series, like ‘Whacky Jacqui takes on Tassie: Married Life Edition’.”
