They’ve been solid for the majority of the experiment, but things began to crumble for Married At First Sight’s Teejay Halkias and Beth Kelly during their homestays in Brisbane this week. The intruder couple are clearly at different stages in their relationship as Beth was left heartbroken when Teejay told his friends he couldn’t understand why they still didn’t have a romantic spark.

While the UK-born bride ended the trip in tears, it appears things aren’t over between the pair just yet. Photos obtained by Yahoo Lifestyle from the upcoming dinner party show Beth and Teejay looking very loved up as they stepped out of the car and entered the warehouse.

Beth, who wore a green dress with a thigh-high split and daring cutouts, beamed as her ‘husband’ helped her out of the car and held an umbrella to block the rain.

Brutal reason why Teejay isn’t into Beth

During lunch with his friends in Brisbane, Teejay admitted there was “something that’s lacking” between himself and Beth that made him want to continue the relationship. He also told them away from his ‘wife’ that he didn’t feel “completely comfortable” with her in the experiment and would end things if he had to decide on the spot.

A friend of the former Big Brother star tells Yahoo Lifestyle that the reason why he struggled to build a romantic connection with Beth during filming was simply because she “isn’t his type”.

“He did want to at least try to give the experiment a go though and see if he could find any spark, but pretty much from the start he was doubtful there’d be one,” they share.

“Then the further into the experiment they went, he didn’t know how to tell her this without breaking her heart or becoming hated by the public. He basically didn’t know what to do for the best so just dragged it out.”

A second source adds: “As well as hoping to find feelings for Beth, he also loved the idea of lasting longer on the show and getting more airtime. He already felt at a disadvantage to the rest of the cast by coming in midway through as an intruder.”

Where do the couples stand after homestays?

Beth and Teejay weren’t the only couple looking loved up as they arrived at the upcoming dinner party, with Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou sharing a kiss when they stepped out of the car.

Jamie Marinos and Dave Thomas Hand also kissed on their way into the warehouse, marking a huge change for the couple as they entered the last dinner party solo.

The couple had a major breakthrough during their homestays in Melbourne when Dave introduced Jamie to her father, who was too sick while undergoing chemotherapy to attend their wedding.

Meanwhile, Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels also arrived at the dinner party hand in hand, as did Carina Mirabile and Paul Antoine.

On the other hand, Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly were snapped arriving separately at the second last dinner party of the season.

A preview for Wednesday night’s episode shows Ryan telling Jacqui he’s “sick of it” and “had a gutful” of her.

“I’m not going to sugarcoat things, I’m not going to tolerate it anymore,” he said. “I can’t do this, Jacqui.”
