Married At First Sight’s controversial bride Jacqui Burfoot has reacted after being dumped live on-air while delivering an explosive tirade at her on-screen husband Ryan Donnelly following their contentious Final Vows.
The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick show dumped the 29-year-old on Tuesday morning after she said, “I wish someone was there to tell him to shut the f*** up,” referring to her explosive Final Vows with Ryan on Monday evening’s episode.
Speaking to SkyNews.com.au afterwards, Jacqui brushed off the station’s censorship of her views as “nothing”.
“I just said someone need to be there at Final Vows to tell Ryan to ‘shut the f*** up and let me speak for once’,” she said.
Fifi, Fev, and Nick co-host Jules Lund pressed the New Zealander on why she chose to stay in the experiment with Ryan every week, only to dump him when their nine-week relationship reached a crescendo.
Their tumultuous marriage saw the couple frequently fight and make amends, with Jacqui apologising for calling Ryan “small-brained” before discreetly giving her number to her ‘backup match’ Rory in the final task.
Lund accused her of spinning “a bloody good web to get (Ryan) back, leaning in, only to sucker punch him!”
“Well, you can say that; you’re entitled to your opinion, but I made it very clear that I never wanted to be with Ryan throughout filming,” Jacqui said.
“I did the best I can. I’m proud of how I held myself to the end and my final vows. He’s got a very aggressive and strong sense of masculine pride.
“When you’re on a show like this, what are you supposed to do? Are you supposed to roll over or call it out like you see it? And, no, I don’t like being interrupted; I wish someone was there to tell him to shut the f*** up…”
In one of the most crushing blows in Final Vow history, Jacqui effectively called Ryan the world’s biggest red flag and said she was not his “rehabilitation centre” in her speech.
“In a world of red flags, you’re the red carpet,” she told him on Monday evening.
Jacqui also made several accusations against her on-screen spouse, claiming Ryan silenced her, sat idly by while his friend spoke badly about her, and crossed her boundaries.
“The way you speak to and control the people and animals you love scares me,” she said.
“You’ve allowed your friends to scold, yelling and scolding dogs is disgusting. You planned a gang attack on me.
“So today, I choose peace and to walk away from this relationship.”
Ryan also chose to end the relationship but remained silent about it on social media as, just hours before the episode aired, Jacqui was granted an interim restraining order against him to stop him from commenting online about her.
A teaser of the forthcoming showdown reunion episodes showed Jacqui together with groom Clint Rice, with whom she is now in a relationship and living at his million-dollar home in Tasmania.
Jacqui told Fifi, Fev, and Nick the professional golfer would say she is the most “normal” of the brides from this year’s controversial season 12 after viewers accused her of being a “golddigger” and “loopy”.
“If you speak to Clint, he will explain that out of the group that I’m the most normal girl, down to earth, and (a girl) who doesn’t take herself too seriously,” she said.
“He reached out to me and wanted to get to know me, and after final vows he invited me down to Tassie to spend some time with him.
“We do have a 14-year age gap, so I was a little nervous about that but after meeting him, the age gap didn’t matter, it didn’t affect us at all.
“Clint is a successful businessman, and we’re both going into business together now. Life is looking great. There’ll be opportunities for me in the future, and I’m glad people found me entertaining on the screen.”
