Performer Lachie Gill has confirmed that he has not maintained links with pop star Rita Ora after the Brit singer coached him to a win on The Voice in 2022.
The 27-year-old PE teacher made the admission during a social media question and answer fan session this week.
Still, it appears that the former AFL player has no hard feelings about the Brit pop star as he posted his story which he captioned, ‘Your most common question is finally answered.’
Sharing a selfie clip to his Instagram Lachie posted a series of questions from fans about Rita including, ‘Are you still friends with Rita Ora?’ and ‘Do you still talk to Rita?’.
Someone else asked, ‘Have you seen Rita since The Voice?’
In the video Lachie can be seen nodding his head sadly alongside the caption, ‘No’.

However, the fan favourite added a nostalgic throwback clip in which he an be seen belting out Lady Ga Ga’s ‘Always Remember Us This Way’ alongside Rita during The Voice Grand Final in 2022.
He then added the sweet message, ‘but… I’ll always remember us this way.’
Since being crowned winner of The Voice Lachie dropped the 2023 EP Write It Out, after two singles in 2022, Wasted Time and Sad Summer.
Lachie last heard from Rita after the finale aired Yahoo Lifestyle reported in 2023.
‘She messaged me after the show and just said she’s super proud of me. She actually said, “We won! I’m super proud of you”‘ he recalled.
After being crowned winner of The Voice Australia for 2022 Lachie walked away with $100,000 prize money and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia.
After host Sonia Kruger delivered the verdict, the former football player and P.E. teacher said he was ‘blown away’.
‘Oh my God! From the start, I just never, ever would have expected this. I’m just blown away. Thank you so much. Wow. Thank you,’ Lachie exclaimed.

Proud coach Rita, praised him for his talent and thanked Australia for their support.
‘You did all of this. Australia, thank you, thank you, I love you. I feel like this is just the beginning for you. Congratulations. I’m so happy for you I can’t breathe!’ she gushed.
From the very start, Rita was determined to get the talented Lachie on her team.
‘Lachie is in a league of his own; he’s the ultimate storyteller and has the ability to capture the audience and have them go along with him. He sings like it’s the last time, every time,’ she said.
Lachie thanked the Body on Me hit-maker for reminding him to stay authentic.
‘You’ve given me challenging songs, but you’ve always said, ‘Don’t try and be someone else, just do it Lachie’s way’,’ he said.
It comes after Lachie spoke out about his career in a frank 2023 interview.
Becoming a successful performer is incredibly difficult, he said, even if you’ve starred on a popular singing show.

Lachie said that because there are so many budding artists out there looking for their big break a singer really needs to stand out to get noticed.
‘People think if they’ve just won a TV show they are going to be a star. That is not how it works,’ he told The Daily Telegraph.
‘At the end of the day, there are so many artists out there and you have to be that little bit different to make people want to listen to you rather than someone else.’
His warning ring true as while some singing show winners like Australian Idol’s Guy Sebastian have gone onto have successful musical careers, many others fade from the spotlight like The Voice’s 2021 winner Bella Taylor Smith.
