Married At First Sight viewers were thrilled watching Sunday night’s episode when Jamie Marinos and Dave Thomas Hand both said they wanted to take their relationship beyond the experiment. Despite some hurdles in recent weeks, the fan favourite couple walked away from Final Vows hand-in-hand and joked they should go skinny dipping to celebrate.

It’s since been revealed, however, that Jamie and Dave are no longer together. While the self-proclaimed ‘Big Friendly Giant’ proclaimed at Final Vows that he was ready to give their relationship “a real shot”, insiders tell Yahoo Lifestyle that he was the one who ultimately decided to end things.

“Dave still wasn’t as into it as Jamie was, and once they got home, he started to pull away,” one source shares, with another adding, “Dave regrets how things ended between them as he’s now seen how popular Jamie is and doesn’t want to be hated”.

Jamie refuses to answer breakup questions

Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle following Sunday night’s episode, Jamie remains tight-lipped when asked to confirm rumours that she and Dave have broken up.

“You’re going to have to wait another week,” she teases, hinting that all will be revealed at the upcoming reunion. “I’m going to hold out until the reunion, and then you can ask me whatever question you want about how we made it work or didn’t work.”

Jamie adds that she isn’t a fan of ‘spoilers’ and hates how many of her co-stars have refused to “keep it in their pants” since filming wrapped last year.

“It’s such a disservice. We put in so much time and everything, and I hate how many spoilers there are. It’s so s**tty,” she remarks. “I want a surprise, I want a wow for everyone, because I didn’t know what anyone’s Final Vows decisions were going to be. That’s how unpredictable it was.”

Jamie says she was ‘ready to drop dead’ while filming Final Vows

While she refuses to share details about her current relationship status, Jamie admits that her Final Vows wasn’t exactly the fairytale it appeared on TV because she was “so sick” on the day.

“I had a really bad temperature and I was trying not to pass out during my Final Vows. So on top of looking pregnant, I was really sick,” she shares. “Looking pregnant was not on my bingo card for that Final Vows, but I can assure you I wasn’t.”

She adds that the evening after Final Vows was “not romantic at all” and she was “ready to drop dead” in the duck pond.

“We didn’t get to go home and get a ticket to pound town. We literally got to the apartment, I passed out next to Dave, I had a fever all night, and he just had to watch me rot in the bed,” she details. “I was so f**king sick.”
