Robert Irwin‘s Bonds underwear photo shoot certainly attracted its fair share of raunchy reactions from fans online.

Now a Sydney radio host has come out slamming many of the racy comments, calling them out as an example of ‘double standards’.

2GB presenter Lucy Zelic said that if a middle-aged man made similar comments about a young woman they would be ‘crucified’.

Zelic read out a series of provocative posts reacting to the 21-year-old’s photo shoot which had the zookeeper posing with reptiles and a spider in tight fitting undies which left little to the imagination.

Many of the comments she shared with listeners on Wednesday during 2GB’s Sydney Now show made playful fun of Robert’s ‘bulge’ below the waist with one user joking that his ‘python [was] quite long’.

Zelic quoted another Robert fan who said, ‘I think I would let you put a spider on me.’

And another from a woman who said, ‘Boy, not now i’m ovulating.’

‘The reason why I have an issue with these comments is that this pursuit of gender equality and how appalling it is for men to objectify women … why is it OK by today’s standards to objectify men?’ an angry Zelic told listeners.

‘Why does the way we comment about women get criticised but the way that we comment about men gets celebrated and accepted? Would we accept these comments coming from middle-aged men directed at a 21-year-old woman?’ she continued.

Zelic said that any man commenting in a similar way about a woman would result in him being ‘crucified’.

‘You’d be cancelled, called toxic. This is misogyny, you’re disgraceful, you’re embarrassing.’

It comes after fans of the Irwin family were left swooning after Robert debuted a new photo spread last week.

Robert, the son of the late icon Steve Irwin, posed in a series of pictures for People Magazine as he modelled Bonds to help bring the Aussie brand to the US.

In a gimmick that referenced his career as a conservationist, Robert posed with live animals in some of the photos—and according to the magazine, most of them were venomous.

In one picture, Robert left little to the imagination as he wore a pair of white underwear, giving a smoldering look to the camera as a large snake was wrapped around his neck.

He also draped the snake around himself as he sat down in a chair in a pair of black Bonds underwear, showing off his washboard abs.

In another snap, he cuddled with a large lizard, but this time, Robert was more covered up in a casual white tank top and dark teal undies.

The photos have since gone viral, with fans from all around the world swooning at the all grown-up Robert.
