Australian Idol winner Marshall Hamburger is celebrating the immense success of his debut album after it achieved an enormous milestone.
The 19-year-old from the Sunshine Coast’s album The Idol Collection has debuted at number two on the ARIA Australian Artists chart, behind Bliss n Eso’s The Moon.
It also debuted at number 50 on the album chart, becoming the first Idol’s winner’s album to reach the top 50 right after the reality TV series since Stan Walker in 2009.
Marshall shared a post to social media on Friday night which recognised his incredible success and captioned it with some appreciative words.
‘Thank you,’ he wrote next to the post.
Meanwhile, the Australian Idol page praised Marshall’s success in the comments, writing ‘congratulations!’

Idol 2023 winner Royston Noell joined the chorus, with: ‘Let’s go Marshall!’
Earlier this month, Marshall revealed his plans for the $100,000 prize money, after narrowly securing victory in the competitive singing series.
The singer appeared on Channel Seven‘s Sunrise and told the hosts about his heartwarming plans for the money.
‘I want to pay Mum and Dad back, because they have been spending thousands of dollars on coming back and forth for shows,’ Marshall began.
‘I’ll try and give them the money. I don’t think they’ll take it. They’ve said no, but maybe I’ll sneak in a couple.’
The singing star added he would also be putting the money towards securing some state-of-the-art music equipment.
‘The plan is to spend it on a bunch of music gear, then really get to work on a tour. We want to work on that straight away,’ he said.
During a suspenseful finale, Marshall beat fellow finalists Gisella Colletti and Iilysh Terallick.

He was lost for words by the life-changing victory.
The young performer walks away with a $100,000 cash prize and a recording contract with Sony Music Australia, following the record public vote.
Fighting back emotion, Marshall thanked his fans.
‘Thank you, Australia, thank you so much,’ he said.
‘You’re gonna see a lot of me in the future.’
Talking about his involvement in the singing competition, the excited teenager said, ‘I honestly can’t believe it. I’ve changed so much, I’ve definitely stepped out of my shell’.
As the contest progressed, it was Gisella who was eliminated first – leaving Marshall and Iilyish to battle it out.
Judge Kyle Sandilands gushed over Marshall’s talent.
‘I would love to get a psychic medium to find out which dead music legend you’ve reincarnated,’ the shock jock said.
Marcia Hines also enthused over the Idol winner’s ability, while fellow judge Amy Shark added, ‘From the first second you came into that audition room and sat at that piano, you morphed into a superstar’.
Australian Idol producers have announced Marshall’s first album, The Idol Collection, which includes 11 songs from his best performances on the show.
