Katie Price has opened up about her past legal and financial troubles, revealing that she wouldn’t have objected to a stint in prison following her 2021 drink-driving crash.

The former glamour model, now 46, reflected on the incident in a new interview, admitting that serving time could have offered her a chance to step back and reassess her life.
A Look Back at the 2021 Drink-Driving Incident
The reality TV star and mother-of-five crashed her BMW on the B2135 in West Sussex on September 28, 2021, while under the influence.

The incident led to a court ruling that saw her handed a 16-week suspended sentence and a two-year driving ban.

Price was also disqualified from driving at the time of the crash and did not have insurance, which compounded the severity of the situation.

Following the court’s decision, Price checked into The Priory, a well-known rehabilitation center, to seek treatment. Speaking in a new interview with The Sun, she admitted, “Drink-driving is horrific. I was totally in the wrong.”
She went on to acknowledge that, given the mental state she was in at the time, she might have benefited from time behind bars. “I wouldn’t have minded if I went to prison because I would have got peace and quiet from everyone.
It would have been a good way to sit down and reevaluate. Maybe I should have gone to prison, but it was out of my hands. My mental state was severely unwell. But I am so sorry.”
Financial Troubles and Ongoing Bankruptcy
Price’s legal issues are just one part of her ongoing struggles. Over the years, she has faced significant financial difficulties, culminating in two separate bankruptcies.
Her first bankruptcy was declared in 2019 after she fell behind on a series of unpaid debts. Despite efforts to rebuild her finances, she was declared bankrupt for a second time in 2023 due to an outstanding tax bill exceeding £750,000.
This week, her first bankruptcy was officially discharged following a court hearing. Bankruptcy orders in England and Wales typically last for a year, but in Price’s case, the automatic discharge had been suspended. However, a judge has now lifted that suspension, marking the formal conclusion of her first bankruptcy.

Despite this development, her financial problems are far from over. She is still required to pay off debts related to her second bankruptcy, which remains in effect. Under the terms of her bankruptcy, she must allocate 40% of her monthly earnings from her OnlyFans account toward her outstanding debts, a commitment that will continue until at least 2027.
The ‘Mucky Mansion’ Sale and Eviction
One of the most notable consequences of Price’s financial struggles was the loss of her once-beloved home, dubbed the “Mucky Mansion.” She originally purchased the property in 2014 for £2 million, but it eventually became the center of her financial woes. Despite her efforts to renovate the house in a Channel 4 documentary series, she was ultimately unable to keep up with mortgage payments.
In May 2023, Price was served an eviction notice and forced to sell the nine-bedroom property. Initially listed for £1.5 million, the home was eventually sold for £1.15 million. However, Price did not personally receive any proceeds from the sale, as the money was used to cover her mounting debts. She has since relocated to a new four-bedroom home in Sussex.
Upcoming Court Appearance

While the discharge of her first bankruptcy marks some progress, Price still faces significant financial challenges. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 8 for a public examination regarding her second bankruptcy, which primarily concerns her unpaid tax debt.
During a recent court hearing, the trustee overseeing her bankruptcy proceedings confirmed that ongoing investigations are being conducted into her financial affairs. While it remains uncertain whether additional legal action will be taken, there is a possibility that an application could be made to suspend her bankruptcy discharge for a limited period.
Looking Ahead
Despite her past difficulties, Price insists she is determined to rebuild her life and career. She expressed her commitment to regaining financial stability and re-establishing her brand, saying she is focused on “getting her empire back.”
While she continues to navigate the fallout from her legal and financial troubles, Price appears to be in a more positive place. However, with her next court appearance looming, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the former model and reality star.
