Controversial Married at First groom Adrian Araouzou has broken his silence over his feud with social media star Abbie Chatfield.

The spat began last month after Abbie, 29, featured an ex girlfriend of Adrian’s on her It’s a lot podcast, who detailed the MAFS stars unsavoury behaviour toward her.

Adrian, 30, responded by describing the Brisbane woman, Denver, who he dated for six weeks, as a ‘weekender’.

‘Stop having such short memories’ she said in the caption to which she added: ‘It is part of the manipulation.’

Abbie appeared in the clip in full sarcastic mode telling viewers: ‘People who are commenting onAdrian on online comments…They are going “do we owe [him] an apology? The edit did him dirty oh my god…I really like Adrian now he’s so funny and he’s really hot.”‘

Taking to TikTok, Adrian shared Abbie’s video after adding his own caption that read: ‘Stitch coming’.

He began his response by explaining that ‘a lot of’ fans had sent him Abbie’s savage take down and continued: ‘I want people to understand and Abby [is] included…before going on this experiment I knew I had flaws.

‘I knew I had faults and I know I am not perfect. And watching my time back hasn’t been easy at times. I wish I could change certain situations I wish I could’ve been more vulnerable

‘I wish I could have expressed my emotions and my feelings better. I wish I was a little bit more understanding.’

He went on to indicate he had ‘learned’ about relationships after his time on the experiment.

‘But that was the most beautiful part about this experiment was that I got to hold a mirror to my face and take accountability.

‘And be like ”hey I can be better I can do better and more importantly I can be a better partner.”

‘And I think that’s why some people are coming around to me is because they understand and myself included that not everyone is perfect. You are going to make mistakes in your relationship.

‘You are going to make mistakes in life as long as you are open to learning and growing from them to become a better person in a relationship.

‘And that is something that I am truly grateful for. I am not the same person I was back then than I am now.’

It comes after Adrian spoke to Daily Mail Australia about his controversial portrayal on the show.

Speaking last month he insisted he was ‘the superstar’ of the experiment and has no regrets about his brutal honesty.

Adrian’s marriage to Awhina has been anything but smooth sailing, with the pair clashing over communication styles and expectations.

During the no-holds-barred interview, the sportswear brand owner doubled down on his candid nature, admitting he’s aware his blunt approach has rubbed viewers the wrong way – but insists he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Adrian is well aware of the attention he’s receiving, both good and bad.

‘I think I’m the superstar of the show right now. I’m getting that much love. It’s crazy,’ he said.

Despite being in the middle of multiple heated exchanges on-screen, Adrian claims he’s not fazed by the backlash.

‘I’m actually quite enjoying it, man. Every superhero, most superheroes start off as villains. For me, keep talking about me.

Adrian also hinted at behind-the-scenes editing that may have influenced his portrayal.

A major point of contention between Adrian and Awhina has been discussions around family, particularly her child from a previous relationship.

Adrian admitted that he struggled to navigate these conversations so early on.

‘I just met you a week ago. I don’t know if I’m ready to get into that just yet because we don’t really know each other,’ he explained.

Despite the drama, Adrian is leaning into his notoriety.

‘They can definitely pass me the crown, mate. I’ll sit on the throne, no worries.’
