An insider has revealed the juicy reason behind why Beth Kelly and Teejay Halkias skipped out on the Married At First Sight Final Vows.

ICYMI, the MAFS experiment for 2025 has officially come to a close with Final Vows taking place earlier this week. While most of the remaining couples had the opportunity to express whether they wanted to stay or leave, it was a different story for Beth and Kelly.

On Sunday night, which kicked off Final Vows, it was revealed that the intruder pair wouldn’t be having a Final Vows ceremony, with Beth and Teejay leaving the experiment without doing the whole dramatic shebang.

Their decision to completely ditch Final Vows was not a surprising one. You see, in the lead up to Final Vows, Beth and Teejay’s relationship was basically in shambles after the groom revealed he didn’t have an emotional connection with his ‘wife’, despite being physically intimate with her.

Their relationship truly reached breaking point at the Final Commitment Ceremony, where it was revealed that Teejay wrote ‘leave’, while Beth wrote ‘stay’.

So again, it’s not surprising that they broke up when they broke up.

However, to an MAFS insider, the reason behind why Beth and Teejay left was not as simple as that.

Why did Beth Kelly and Teejay Halkias leave Married At First Sight before Final Vows?

Speaking to Yahoo! Lifestyle, a MAFS insider claimed that it was actually producers who pushed for the pair to leave “in a bid to cut costs”.

“They both already knew it was over, and as much as Beth was ready to go home, she also would’ve loved a chance to have an empowering moment where she told Teejay just how much he’d hurt her,” the source dished to the publication.

“Producers didn’t think it would be worth the expense of them organising an entire ceremony for this to happen, or make sense to viewers as there would be no suspense to their final decision.”

A second source also claimed that Teejay “would have loved the chance to remain on the show until the very end” due to the fact that he and Beth had “minimal airtime”.

Honestly, if you’ve made it to that point, I would’ve demanded a breakup with some florals as well!!

While there have been some speculation surrounding Teejay’s motive for joining MAFS — with many accusing the groom of only going on for exposure — the former Big Brother Australia housemate insists he was on there for the right reasons.

“I went in with an open heart,” Teejay told PEDESTRIAN.TV.

“All of my siblings have a significant other. I’m the only one without one. I’m obviously doing something wrong. So, [I’m] putting my faith in the hands of the experts [and] in the experiment.”

At least, on the bright side, Teejay and Beth will have one more moment in the spotlight with the MAFS reunion.

But that’s if they choose to attend…
