Farmer Wants A Wife viewers have been left confused after noticing one of the female contestants went ‘missing’ during Monday night’s shock episode.

Farmer Thomas, 35, was seen meeting up with four of his female matches at his South Australian property during the episode, as he chose two of them to take on a romantic day out.

However, Thomas’ fifth match, Ellen, was nowhere to be seen and the show did not explain her absence.

Confused fans took to social media to discuss Ellen’s mysterious disappearance.

‘Why does Thomas only have four girls?’ one confused viewer asked.

‘This season is confusing. They should have provided some explanation for the missing girl instead of leaving us all wondering,’ a second person added.

‘Maybe changed her mind after being chosen,’ a third suggested.

Fortunately, Ellen returned to the dating series on Tuesday night and Yahoo Lifestyle revealed she was temporarily absent due to illness.

During Tuesday’s shock episode, Farmer Thomas was left stunned as a potential love match fell apart.

One of the ladies bolted from the stable despite Thomas admitting he had ‘caught feelings’ for her.

Claire admitted that country life was all too much for her despite the starry eyed farmer seeing a future with her.

As they all settled in for the night, Claire voiced her concern that rival Clarette was getting more one-on-one time with Thomas.

‘I haven’t been able to spend much time with Farmer Thomas,’ she said.

‘All the other ladies really enjoyed their 24-hour dates and formed good connections, and they’re all still feeling very smitten.

‘For me, I think the love bubble is definitely being burst. It’s just a different dynamic now.’

When Ellen whisked Thomas away for a one-on-one chat, Clarette took the opportunity to tell the other ladies about her kiss with Thomas during the farm farewell dinner.

News of Clarette’s kiss only fuelled further doubts in Claire’s mind about her feelings for Thomas.

With his 24-hour date with Claire still fresh in his mind, Thomas agreed to go for a chat with Clarette, who was keen to let him know that she had strong feelings for him.

The pair’s conversation ended with another kiss.

When finally alone with Thomas, Claire broke the news that she was leaving the farm.

‘I have been quiet and pulling back a bit, but I’ve kind of like reflected and I don’t actually know if I want to continue’ she said.

Thomas took the news hard, saying it was like a ‘bombshell’ had been dropped on him.

‘I’m a little bit disappointed, to be honest. Claire is an amazing human,’ he said.

‘Yeah, I’m pretty hurt. I caught feelings pretty quickly. In the back of my mind, I knew I was going to get hurt.’
