And Ryan Donnelly had the chance to blow off some steam on Friday when he took to the gym to hone his chiseled form.

The  36-year-old took to Instagram to share an insight into his workout regimen, with a video that showed the reality star working on his upper body strength.

Sitting at what appeared to be a rowing machine, Ryan looked in his element as get got a few reps in.

Ryan’s bulging biceps were on full display in his light grey tank top as he eagerly worked up a sweat.

He could be seen breathing hard through the burn during the workout, seemingly oblivious to the goings on around him.

Ryan was in the gym again on Thursday, taking the time to share a glimpse of his washboard abs to fans.

Posing in what appeared to be the gym’s change room, Ryan held his T-shirt up to reveal his toned and taut torso in the mirror selfie.

He jokingly captioned the enviable snap with the hashtag #fattie.

Ryan’s gym habits were one of many things his ex bride Jacqui Burfoot placed under the microscope during their rocky marriage.

He  came under fire after he threw a tantrum when Jacqui, 29, told the brides that he refuses to have sex before a gym session to ‘preserve his testosterone’ – despite previously sharing intimate details about their bedroom life with the grooms.

In a chat with Daily Mail Australia, Ryan hit back at his portrayal on the show, slamming Jacqui’s decision to reveal private details, calling it ‘pure hate bait.’

Despite the drama it caused, Ryan admitted he was baffled by how much airtime the conversation received.

‘Honestly, watching it back, I thought it was boring. Breaking news: Stop everything- husband prefers sex after working out. Good lord. What a revelation,’ he said sarcastically.

But while he brushed off the scandal as ridiculous, Ryan didn’t hold back in criticising Jacqui for bringing up their private conversations on national television.

‘We’re in one of the most stunning, memorable places in Australia, and Jacqui wants to bring that garbage up? The other girls’ sex lives must have been vanilla as f**k if that became the main topic,’ he scoffed.

Ryan also suggested that Jacqui deliberately framed the story to make him look bad.

‘What do we really think her motivation was? It wasn’t curiosity or a genuine desire for insight. It was pure hate bait. To make me appear selfish and neglectful.’

Despite defending himself, Ryan did acknowledge the hypocrisy of his previous comments about Jacqui’s bedroom skills during intimacy week.

‘I can easily recognise the hypocrisy of mine in the context of the intimacy comments. Oh, Ryan, you can’t get mad at her because you dropped some juicy details with the boys,’ he admitted.

There’s certainly going to be no shortage of drama when MAFS concludes over two nail-biting nights from this Sunday.

With the fate of all couples now decided, it’s all over bar the shouting, but if the dramatic teaser for the upcoming reunion, is anything to go by, there is certainly still some shouting left in this cast yet.

Much of the trailer centers on series ‘villain’ Jacqui Burfoot, 29, and her shock revelation that she has started a relationship with groom Clint Rice, 43.

It appears that the new relationship and Jacqui’s protracted war with ex-groom Ryan Donnelly, 36, continues unabated at the dinner table.

With the teaser showing Ryan menacingly holding his 250-year old Japanese katana, it’s pretty obvious he’s come to do battle.

And he’s not afraid to drop bombs, either, spilling the beans on the timeline of Jacqui and Clint’s relationship.

‘You guys started this whole connection when we were still married,’ Ryan claims, much to the shock of everyone at the table.

It doesn’t take long for Ryan’s presence to trigger Jacqui who can be seen telling her ex to ‘zip it’ as Ryan smiles and shakes his head.

This doesn’t seem to sit well with Jacqui who dials the volume up more than a few notches.

‘I tried my a*** off,’ she yells at Ryan from across the table. ‘My literal a***.’
