A new Spider-Man 4 cast rumor claims a Star Wars actor is being considered for a role opposite Tom Holland, and fans have ideas on who this performer could play in the MCU.

Spider-Man 4 Cast Star Wars Rey Actress Daisy Ridley

Summary:

  • Marvel Studios is reportedly considering Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley for a role in Spider-Man 4.
  • Daisy Ridley’s potential involvement in Spider-Man 4 may not conflict with her Star Wars filming schedule.
  • Ridley’s connection to Disney and Tom Holland makes her casting in Spider-Man 4 plausible, but the rumor is still unconfirmed.

Spider-Man 4 is seemingly moving forward after years of reported disagreements between Marvel Studios and Sony over the sequel’s direction.

Marvel Studios reportedly wanted Spider-Man 4 to be a grounded street-level story while Sony was purportedly pushing for another Multiverse adventure potentially involving Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

As of this writing, both parties appear to have reached an agreement, with Spider-Man 4 rumored to have a new supporting cast as part of director Destin Daniel Cretton’s efforts to put a fresh spin on the character. Now, a new Spider-Man 4 cast rumor may give fans insight into one of the potential new cast members.

An X-Men MCU movie might not be the only mutant project on Marvel Studios’ slate, as a new rumor claims a TV series is also being developed.

The Spider-Man 4 Cast May Have Its Eyes on A Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Actor

Scooper MyTimeToShineHello claims Marvel Studios is considering the Star Wars sequel trilogy’s Rey actress Daisy Ridley for a role in Spider-Man 4.

There was no information regarding the role Ridley is allegedly being eyed to play, but fans shared their predictions or suggestions on social media.

Ridley was a rumored contender to play Spider-Woman in Olivia Wilde’s then-developing film about the eponymous heroine.

While that Sony project has seemingly been scrapped (there’s been no significant update on it for at least a year), some fans wonder if Ridley might play Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman as part of the Spider-Man 4 supporting cast instead.

Other fan-speculated choices for Ridley’s role are Felicia Hardy/Black Cat or Gwen Stacy. Of course, rumors of Ridley’s potential casting should be taken with a grain of salt.

Does Daisy Ridley Have Time To Film Star Wars and Join The Spider-Man 4 Cast?

Ridley is set to reprise her role as Rey Skywalker in Lucasfilm’s upcoming Star Wars: New Jedi Order movie.

Reputable scooper Daniel Richtman reports that Ridley’s new Star Wars movie begins filming next year, which fans have seemingly taken as a repudiation of MyTimeToShineHello’s claim that she’s being considered for a Spider-Man 4 role.

However, Spider-Man 4 is expected to begin filming in the summer of 2025 for a July 2026 release.

If Star Wars: New Jedi Order doesn’t begin production until 2026, her schedule should theoretically be clear for Spider-Man 4 unless the latter is significantly delayed.

Casting Ridley in Spider-Man 4 isn’t a far-fetched idea. If she was considered for Wilde’s seemingly defunct Spider-Woman movie, she would already be on Sony’s radar.

Plus, she’s already a member of the Disney family as a Star Wars franchise cast member (Disney also owns Marvel).

Lastly, Ridley and Spider-Man actor Tom Holland co-starred in the dystopian science-fiction film Chaos Walking, so Holland could put in a good word for her assuming their working relationship was positive.

Of course, this is purely speculation based on an unconfirmed rumor. While many fans would be thrilled to see Ridley join the MCU, others fear Spider-Man 4 is taking a risk by changing the supporting cast.

It’s impossible to tell if Marvel Studios and Sony’s creative decisions for Spider-Man 4 will work out.

At this point, however, many fans are tired of waiting and just want the film to see the light of day.

Spider-Man 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
