The Block veterans Jess Eva and Norm Hogan have revealed they broke up over three years ago, yet still live together.
The fan favourites from the 2018 season quietly ended their long-term engagement in 2021 and are now letting fans know the reasons behind their shock decision.
‘Norm and I split three years ago now. But we still love one another, we’re still the best of friends and we are still family,’ Jess told New Idea magazine.
The 40-year-old then revealed why they had chosen to keep their break up a secret until now.
‘There is no drama, but we both thought it was a bit “up ourselves” to publicly announce we had separated at the time,’ she said.
‘It was really just an accumulation of small things and pressures.
The Block veterans Jess Eva and Norm Hogan have gone public with news of their split, revealing they broke up over three years ago
‘One day, we were both sitting in our backyard, having a beer in front of the fire pit, and I just said, “Norm, I love you, but we can’t keep going like this”.’
She revealed Norm was in agreement with her about parting ways: ‘He said, “I love you too – and I agree”.’
While the romance is over, little else has changed and they remain under the same roof.
‘The only thing that has changed about how we feel about each other is our relationship status,’ Norm said.
He added they still lived together in their Sydney home – but slept in separate bedrooms.
Jess said the pair were working hard to support their two young children Freddie, nine, and Matilda, seven.
‘We sat them down and said there’s two kinds of divorces,’ she said.
‘There is bad divorce where it can get mean or there is fighting – or there is “best friending”. Then I said, “Daddy and I have decided we want to try best friending”.’

Norm and Jess rose to fame on the 2018 season of The Block.
Jess later starred on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and also became a presenter on Triple M Sydney.
During their Block finale, the pair sold their apartment at auction for $2,859,000, making a tidy profit of $209,000.
In 2020, Jess revealed the couple had blown the entire cash prize on swimming pools, gambling and ‘helping out their friends’.
She also admitted they’d paid off a friend’s car loan, bought two lawnmowers and even purchased a block of land on Queensland’s Russell Island.
