Wynne Evans has found himself at the centre of news headlines after it emerged that he had made an “unacceptable” and “inappropriate” comment to Strictly colleague Janette Manrara.

He has now stepped away from the spotlight to focus on his well-being. But that’s left many wondering what will happen to Wynne’s career. Will he continue in his beloved role as the Go Compare man? And what about his BBC Radio 2 gig?
Here is what we know so far…

Wynne Evans news – fight to save Go Compare job
Last night, Wynne issued a statement on social media, stating he “agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out”.
Now, the broadcaster is facing pressure to shelve Wynne’s latest gig, his new travelogue titled Wynne & Joanna: All At Sea, alongside Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page.
Wynne has also stepped back from his BBC Radio Wales show.
Reports claim that Wynne was recorded on video suggesting three-way sex with Strictly favourite Janette Manrara whilst at a photocall to launch the Strictly tour.
Executives at Go Compare, the insurance comparison website which Wynne fronts, are said to have held crisis meetings over his future with the company, as reported by The Sun.
A source told the publication: “His deal with them hangs by a thread. Wynne is so popular with viewers, so it will be a very tough call, but the sense is it is hard to keep him on.”
ED! has contacted representatives at Go Compare for comment.

BBC viewers complain over Wynne Evans’ ‘prime time’ TV spot
Elsewhere, BBC fans have been left scratching their heads over why Wynne’s new travelogue is still on air amid the allegations.
One wrote to social media: “Just a thought to BBC. But maybe this Wynne Evans All At Sea prime-time TV show could have been postponed for a while?”
Another penned: “Wynne Evans…Get him off my [bleep]ing telly!”
A third agreed: “BBC what on earth are you doing showcasing Wynne Evans tonight after yet another scandal.”
Replaced on BBC Radio Wales
He also hosts the breakfast show on BBC Radio Wales. Earlier this week he was replaced.
In a statement, BBC Radio Wales said that comedian Robin Morgan, who has covered for Evans in the past, will be presenting in Evans’ place while he takes some time off – something Wynne has now confirmed.
BBC Wales declined to comment on whether he had voluntarily taken leave or been asked not to present. He has been part of the BBC Radio Wales presenting team for more than a decade.
As well as that, after being axed from the Strictly tour, his fee for that surely faces at least a cut – or being pulled altogether – as he steps back from the remaining performances.
